Europa-Park is among the most popular tourist destinations in Germany - Germany's biggest leisure park is a tourist magnet

 

According to the latest statistics of the German Tourism Association, which have been published in May 2003, Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg is placed second among the stationary touristic destinations in 2002. The statistics show that it broke clearly away from other stationary tourist destinations.

With over 6 million visitors in 2002, the Dome of Cologne is at the top of the list of stationary touristic highlights, followed by Europa-Park, which attracted 3,55 million visitors last year. The "Drosselgasse Alley" in Rüdesheim is placed third in this category.

The most popular temporary tourist attractions are the "Münchner Oktoberfest? with 6 million visitors and the "Große Kirmes Düsseldorf? with approximately 4 million.

These are the results of a survey of the German Tourism Association, which has been carried out by the National Tourism Organizations and the National Park Administrations. The German Tourism Association has drawn up selection of the most popular sights, events and scenic attractions.

With 3,55 million visitors in 2002, Europa-Park is not only the market leader among German leisure parks, but also the biggest seasonal leisure park worldwide.
