Rust, June 25th 2004. Europa-Park in Rust/Baden has officially opened the new 4-star superior hotel "Colosseo? with a big celebrity party. Approximately 700 guests from the fields of economy, politics and show business have been invited to join the evening gala.

Rust, June 25th 2004. Europa-Park in Rust/Baden has officially opened the new 4-star superior hotel "Colosseo? with a big celebrity party. Approximately 700 guests from the fields of economy, politics and show business have been invited to join the evening gala. "I can feel, with how much love of details a piece of Italy has been created here?, said the Italian film diva Claudia Cardinale during the symbolic hand-over of the key to the owners of Europa-Park Roland, Jürgen and Franz Mack.
With the ceremonial christianing of the new hotel and an overwhelming show, which has been performed by the international artists of Europa-Park, the guests celebrated the official opening of the largest hotel in Baden-Wuerttemberg (1.450 beds) until the morning.
Among the guests were for example: boxing world champion Henry Maske, football coach Berti Vogts, Naike Rivelli (daughter of Ornella Muti), the models Eva Padberg and Gitta Saxx, the actors Mark Keller and Mariella Ahrens, the figure skaters Denise Biellmann and Norbert Schramm, the television presenters Frank Elstner, Karl-Heinz Kögel, Dagmar Siegel and Sabrina Staubitz, head of Porsche Wendelin Wiedeking, President of the State Parliament Peter Straub as well as the German ministers Annette Schavan, Friedhelm Repnik and Willi Stächele.
Approximately 50 million Euro have been invested in the new hotel. This is the largest investment ever, since the opening of the park in 1975. With the construction of the new hotel, approximately 300 new jobs have been created. With 3,6 million visitors per year, Europa-Park, which still remains a family business, is the biggest seasonal leisure park in the world.
