Germany's largest amusement park is celebrating the spookiest time of the year again: all manner of witches, ghosts and a hauntingly beautiful music accompaniment will immerse visitors in a unique atmosphere from 30. September to 05. November 2023. Extraordinary decoration, an autumnal range of food options and breathtaking shows are sure to put visitors in the Halloween mood. Then, after dark, the fearless can look forward to the multi-award-winning horror spectacle ‘Traumatica’. The Rulantica water world also becomes eerily beautiful, offering the perfect opportunity to escape the dullest of autumn days. After many exciting moments, visitors can then relax in the Europa-Park Hotel Resort.
Halloween at the Europa-Park Resort celebrates a jubilee
For 25 years now, dark figures have cavorted through Germany's largest theme park among 180,000 glowing orange regional pumpkins, 15,000 chrysanthemums, 6,000 corn plants, 3,000 bales of hay and over 100,000 autumn flowers, while the Halloween atmosphere is perfected with thick cobwebs and mystical music.
Creepily fun rides
In the 16 European themed areas, there are fun rides for the whole family, even during this colourful season, but visitors who aren’t careful may find themselves spooked. In the Magic Cinema 4D, MACK Magic presents an exciting 12-minute film about Nikola Tesla. The immersive cinema experience provides a thrilling insight into the inventor's little-known period in Europe, as well as a glimpse of the future rollercoaster in the Croatia themed area at Europa-Park.
In the French themed area, the Spooky Kids Village offers various activities for children. Guests can have their hair styled for Halloween or romp through the 'Spooky Steps'. Excitement also continues in the Dutch themed area. Here, the popular 'Koffiekopjes' are transformed into 'Griezelkopjes' with lightning effects and spooky music, making the ride a very special experience. Spooky decorations transform the fast-paced Spanish carriage carousel 'Feria Swing' into a 'Flight of the Vampires'. For anyone feeling peckish after the action-packed riding fun, there are plenty of special seasonal delicacies available. The culinary delights of Europa-Park are also characterised by the colourful season, with delicious pumpkin and other autumnal dishes, as well as typical Oktoberfest specialties.
Fun Halloween specials
With full stomachs, visitors can then look forward to the best entertainment. In the Europa-Park Teatro, the illusion artist Vincent Vignaud casts a spell over the audience with the show 'Darkness'. Visitors can look forward to a breathtaking mixture of dance and magic that blurs the lines between reality and illusion. In the Greek themed area, thirsty vampires and dancing skeletons provide the best entertainment in the ice show 'Surpr’Ice presents The Vampire Circus on Ice’, while a spooky game of life and death begins on Halloween in the show 'Checkmate' at the Globe Theatre.
'Traumatica' - The ultimate thrill
The horror event 'Traumatica' is not for the faint of heart. The multi-award-winning scary spectacle is sure to have even most fearless of visitors breaking out in a sweat. 'Traumatica - Festival of Fear' will take place this year from 27. September to 11. November 2023, Friday to Sunday, on selected Thursdays and on Halloween (31. October). The preview is on 27. September, with tickets available in advance.
The Vampire's Club is always open on Fridays, Saturdays and 31. October. The 'The Witching Hour' experience also takes place every Friday, Saturday and 31. October.
In addition, since 14. September, a new episode of the five-part documentary series 'How to become a monster in 90 days' has been available exclusively on VEEJOY every Thursday. Monster maker Bill McCoy is on a quest to create the ultimate horror experience for 'Traumatica'. With the help of his team, he wants to create the perfect monster. To do this, he is developing a special horror boot camp in which talented amateur actors learn the art of scaring in 90 days and transform themselves into true monsters with the help of Hollywood make-up.
SWR3 Halloween-Party
Attention ghosts and vampires of the night: On 31. October, Germany's biggest Halloween party will take place again in Europa-Park. From 8pm to 2am, groovy live music, first-class SWR3 DJs and the two star acts DJ VIZE & DJ ALLE FARBEN will heat up the dance crowd in Europa-Park's Confertainment Centre. Guests can party to the beats of their choice in the iconic Silent Disco or pose in their Halloween outfit at the photo point. Visitors can also expect a wide selection of fruity cocktails, refreshing long drinks and tasty snacks.
Sliding fun and oases of peace
In the Rulantica water world, visitors can also look forward to special Halloween surprises and fun decorations. A huge skeleton, pumpkins, corn stalks and bales of hay create an autumnal atmosphere in the outdoor area. There are also scary yet beautiful animations for children: time flies during the interactive kids show ‘Geisterzeit’, and the hunt begins in 'Treasure of the Ghost Vikings'. At Rulantica Vibes on selected dates in the swim-up bar in the Frigg Temple, adults can look forward to some pumping beats from the DJs. Autumn delicacies such as delicious Halloween wraps, fiery Pizza Diavolo, Poutine Chicken Pumpkin or a refreshing Halloween cocktail provide refreshment.
There's plenty of action at the Tønnevirvel round trip attraction, which is open all year round, where guests can get involved in a water fight on gondolas that twirl through the crystal-clear water. This year also saw the launch of 'Vikingløp', the largest speed slide in Europe, adding to the water fun. With eight tube slides and a total length of more than 1,500 metres, the guests slide down while lying on mats and race each other to the bottom.
After the sliding fun, visitors can relax in the new Rulantica Svits 'Nørd', 'Øst', 'Sør' and ‘Vest’, situated high up in the Nordiskturn. These optional day suites offer numerous luxurious amenities such as a sauna, a cosy lounge area and a private loggia. The Rulantica VIP Svits 'Sørvind' and 'Vestavind' promise even more exclusivity. Each of these two-storey day suites also feature high-quality furnishings, picture windows and a private balcony. The exclusive relaxation and sauna area 'Hyggedal' also offers the opportunity to relax. For those cool autumn days, the new nude steam bath ‘Damp Huset’ is a wonderful wellness experience.
‘Eatrenalin’ - new dimensions of dining
Visitors to the culinary world innovation Eatrenalin can experience an exciting journey for the senses. Since November 2022, the fine dining restaurant has inspired guests with its interplay of high-quality top cuisine and visual, acoustic, olfactory and haptic experiences. At the heart of Eatrenalin is the 'Floating Chair', an innovative ride system developed by MACK Rides, which allows guests to float through the different worlds of delight.
New worlds
Just next door, even more exciting adventures await visitors. While YULLBE PRO is experienced in a group, YULLBE GO focuses on each individual guest. During the 10-minute VR experiences, visitors can face adventurous challenges on their own. During the new YULLBE PRO Experience ‘Amber Blake: Operation Dragonfly, guests can experience an interactive 3D action thriller. The 30-minute Virtual Reality Experience is based on the ‘Amber Blake’ comic series from Belgian supermodel Jade Lagardère and features thrilling state-of-the-art technology and a nerve-wracking adventure across Singapore’s skyline.

After a day of unforgettable moments, the six park-owned, autumnally decorated hotels and the rustic Camp Resort offer the perfect opportunity to end the day with a unique charm.
