Germany´s biggest Winter Wonderland:

Magic Moments at Europa-Park

When snowflakes are covering the wintery landscape, the air is filled with the scent of gingerbread and hot punch and Santa Clause´s “Hohoho” can be heard in the background, then the time of “magic moments” has come to Germany´s biggest theme park. 2,500 fir trees, a festively decorated Christmas Market and numerous fairy-lights transform Europa-Park into a dreamy winter landscape from 28 November 2009 until 10 January 2010 (except 24/25 December). Many winter attractions and fascinating show-programmes guarantee plenty of fun and entertainment for young and old alike.

An adventurous Winter Journey through Europe
Many exciting rides and special winter activities are waiting for the whole family also during the cold time of the year. Whether a thrilling ride on the roller coaster Euro-Mir, a trip to the hibernal firmament with Eurosat or a leisurely ride together with the kids in the Sleigh Ride Snowflake – winter at Europa-Park leaves nothing to be desired! Moreover, many additional activities guarantee plenty of action: cutting the corners on Children´s Skibobs, racing down a snow ramp in Snow Tubes or turning a sweeping pirouette on a large Ice-Skating Rink. And all children, who want to test their skiing skills, can experience their first skiing adventure in the Children´s Ski School during the whole winter season. In between, the visitors can enjoy ice-cold refreshments in a truly frosty ambience with sub-zero temperatures at the Ice Bar “Glaciar”.
All those who want to spend their day at Europa-Park at a more leisurely pace, can stroll across the festively decorated Winter & Christmas Market or enjoy a drink in the cosy ambience of the Après Ski Bar. Children´s eyes sparkle with joy inside the large Winter Wonderworld, where numerous hands-on activities guarantee fun and action for the little ones. Moreover, wintery offers such as a Christmas Pyramid, a giant Advent Calendar and a Crib Exhibition make for a truly festive atmosphere. And who knows, maybe the mail coach and the sleigh carrying all the Christmas wishes from “Postamt Himmelspforte” are already on their way to Santa Clause…

Festive Accents
During the winter season, a spectacular show-programme enchants the visitors in Germany´s biggest theme park. Inside the Globe Theatre, the audience is on search for the lost charm in “The Christmas Miracle – a Musical for the whole Family”, while Santa Clause is curious about the “magic gift” in the Ice-Show “Wonderland on Ice”. In the original circus tent on Europa-Park´s Festival Area, the spectacular Circus Revue “Winter Circus” awaits the guests with many top-class show-acts performed by acrobats, animals and other artists. The youngest visitors can look forward to the Children´s Musical “The Snow Queen” (after a story by H. C. Andersen) and to the funny Euromaus-Show “Christmas in the Land of Geysers”. Highlights of an adventurous day at Europa-Park are the sparkling Parade of Lights in the evening and the Magic Light Show, which illuminates the big lake, while dancing fountains and lights are moving to the sound of the music.

An exceptional Art Exhibition
Also this year, the visitors can experience a fantastic new type of art exhibition in the Mercedes-Benz Hall during the winter season: “Faith, hope, love – Marc Chagall´s dream of the Bible” invites all guests to go on an unforgettable voyage of discovery through the works of Chagall. The visitors can not only admire original lithographs by the famous artist, but they can actually plunge into his visual world.

Winter Highlights
Also during the cold time of the year, numerous specials are offered to the guests of Germany´s biggest theme park. For example, the Swiss queen of pirouettes and elevenfold World Champion Denise Biellmann will melt the ice in the winter Ice-Show together with Europa-Park´s international ice-skating ensemble from 26 December until 10 January.
And as a perfect ending of a fantastic year, the guests can celebrate New Year´s Eve on the hot Tropical Beach Party or when joining one of many evening events in the themed hotels. Highlight of the New Year´s Eve festivities is a giant fireworks display, which illuminates the sky above Europa-Park.

Magic Moments by Night
Approximately 2,500 colourfully decorated fir trees, sparkling fairy-lights and cosy campfires guarantee countless magic moments during the winter season. And for all those, who just can´t get enough of the romantic atmosphere, the four 4-star themed hotels “Colosseo”, “Santa Isabel”, “El Andaluz” and “Castillo Alcazar” offer heavenly overnight accommodation in a wonderful ambience. Those who want to have sweet winter dreams will feel especially comfortable in one of the Christmas rooms, where young and old spend the night surrounded by festive atmosphere and Christmas decoration.
