Michael Mack
Michael Mack was born on 21 December 1978 in Freiburg/Germany. He grew up in Rust, where he has also attended elementary school. In nearby Ettenheim he gained his Abitur school-leaving certificate in 1998.
From 1999 until 2003 Michael Mack studied International Business Management (trinational) in Basel (Switzerland), Lörrach (Germany) and Colmar (France). He completed his studies as a business economist.
Already during his youth Michael Mack has gained experience in the family business. For example he has worked in the following sections: attractions, F&B, hotel and technology.
During his course of studies he has passed numerous internships. During his integrated degree studies he worked for Hubert Burda Media in Offenburg, Munich and abroad.
Moreover, he has gained work experience in well-known international leisure parks such as Liseberg (Sweden), Bush Gardens Williamsburg / VA (USA), Warner Bros. Movie World / Queensland (Australia), Nigoland (France) and Port Aventura (Spain).
Since the beginning of 2005, Michael Mack strengthens the cooperation between the manufacturing company MACK Rides GmbH & Co. KG in Waldkirch/Germany and Europa-Park and acts for the management of MACK Rides. Since 2007, he is responsible for Mack Solutions, strategic business development, Show & Event and construction management at Europa-Park.
Since 13 February 2008, Michael Mack is a board member of the German Association of Amusement Parks (VDFU).
In January 2010, Michael Mack has been appointed to the IAAPA Europe Advisory Board. IAAPA is the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
Michael Mack is the son of Roland Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park, and his wife Marianne. He has one brother, Thomas (born on 4 January 1981), and one sister, Ann-Kathrin (born on 19 October 1989).
