On 8th October 2018, the Republic of France granted Exequatur to the Managing Partner of Europa-Park Michael Mack and appointed him Honorary Consul of the administrative districts of Freiburg im Breisgau and Tübingen. Last Tuesday, a festive reception took place in Germany's largest theme park. In addition to numerous politicians and guests of honour, the ambassador of France in Germany Anne-Marie Descôtes was also in attendance in the Ballroom Berlin of Europa-Park and congratulated Michael Mack to his new honorary post.

With this in mind, let us strengthen the bond between Germany and France together,’ said diplomat Anne-Marie Descôtes to the new official.
Michael Mack: ‘I am very happy about my appointment as French Honorary Consul. I consider this a great honour, legacy and responsibility. With this honorary office, the tradition of our family is continued. As a young European, I have set four cornerstones for my tenure under the motto 'En avant les jeunes': youth, digitization, the future, and tradition.’ In his new role, Michael Mack is also committed to further intensifying Franco-German friendship to promote the connection between nations and their cultures through cross-border projects. In addition, the managing partner of Europa-Park wants to improve the professional prospects of young people in the digital sector and with the help of start-ups as part of his honorary post on both sides of the Rhine.
Since the founding of Europa-Park in 1975, the owner family Mack has been committed to the European idea and is campaigning for German-French friendship. The appointment of Michael Mack to the French Honorary Consul of the administrative districts of Freiburg im Breisgau and Tübingen promotes bilateral relations and is a further step in the cooperation of neighbouring countries.
One of the main tasks of the new honorary consul is to further promote the economic and cultural cooperation of the two nations. In addition, French citizens can consult him on any questions. Michael Mack will serve as French Honorary Consul until 30th June 2023.
