In 2025, not only is Germany’s largest theme park celebrating its 50th anniversary, but also half a century of shared memories and emotions. With a wide range of special offers and events, a new attraction for families as well as a feature film to come to cinemas worldwide, the owner family Mack are celebrating their business’ success story all year long. Under the motto of ‘Experience.Europe.Together’, the European idea will be brought into focus. Guests can look forward to an unforgettable and intensive journey through Europe, with numerous highlights awaiting them. They will also be enthralled by new shows. In the 50 years since it’s opening, Europa-Park has welcomed nearly 150 million guests, employing people from over 100 different countries. This cultural diversity will be shown and experienced in particular this jubilee year.
50 Years of Europa-Park
To kick off the anniversary season, the Rulantica water world will host the first Northern Lights Festival. Between 13. January and 21. March 2025, the water world will be transformed into a sparking sea of lights. Guests can be enthralled by magical illuminations and dazzling shows and entertainment, as well as dancing Northern Lights. On 22. March, Europa-Park begins its magical summer season. For its 50th birthday, a year full of highlights with the best entertainment awaits guests. Alongside a new parade with impressive floats and danvers in colourful costumes, this anniversary year offers spectacular new performances from the Europa-Park artists. There are also fantastic shows, as well as a wealth of surprises and over 15 hours of fast-paced ride fun at the two Summer Night Parties. On 12. July, the birthday of Germany’s largest theme park, and on 23. August, when the JUNIOR CLUB celebrates its 10th birthday, visitors can look forward to action, adrenaline and fun until midnight. In the different themed areas, the culture and cuisine of various European countries will be presented under the motto ‘Experiencing.Europe.Together’. In keeping with ‘Celebrating under the stars’, renowned artist Ottmar Hörl will create a large installation at the Historic Balthasar Castle Park. With its 100 golden stars, the ’Garden of the Stars’ looks to inspire visitors and stimulate conversations.
Not only have different nations visited Germany’s largest theme park through the decades, but different generations too. At the ‘2025 Art Contest’, visitors can relate their memories and special experiences with other guests and submit such creative works as photography, dance, construction, handicrafts or drawings. The best entries will be exhibited at ‘ART BOULEVARD 2025’ at Europa-Park. The competition is proudly supported by the TALENT ACADEMY.
Just in time for Europa-Park's 50th birthday, mascots Ed & Edda are taking the cinema world by storm with their friends. ‘GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE’, a MACK Magic and Warner Bros. Film Productions Germany co-production will delight cinemagoers with its endearing characters, a captivating story, action and wit. The film’s producer is Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and founder of entertainment company MACK Magic. At Germany’s largest theme park, a supporting family attraction will be created in the Luxembourg themed area in 2025. In the innovative gameplay theatre ‘GRAND PRIX EDventure’, guests find themselves as members of Ed & Edda's racing crew and take part in a fast-paced car race across Europe, passing breathtaking film locations from the animated adventure GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE.
The other European themed areas also offer plenty of action and adrenaline for young and old. In the Croatian themed area, guests get to experience a rollercoaster highlight on the multi-launch ‘Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac’. The ‘Alpenexpress Enzian’ and the ‘Tirol Log Flume’ in the Austria themed area make for more unforgettable fun.
For all those wishing to take a piece of Europa-Park history home with them after a day full of experiences, there’s an exclusive Golden Jubilee collection, including the official collector’s album or the 50th anniversary Europa-Park Chronicle. To conclude this anniversary year, DJ BoBo will stop at the Europa-Park Arena for his tour, with spectacular stage design and impressive choreography.
With more than 100 shows and attractions as well as 17 Europe themed areas, Germany’s largest theme park inspires over six million visitors each year. This family business is one of the most loved tourist attractions in the country and has already been awarded the industry’s highest accolade, the ‘Golden Ticket Award’, as ‘Best Theme Park in the World’ 9 times. The Europa-Park Resort is further developing, step by step. At present, the Camp Resort and Europa-Park Camping are being extended. New gastronomic establishments and overnight accommodation, as well as new sanitary facilities are under construction. Guests can already look forward to new highlights there during the anniversary year.
